Consumers are not really interested in food traceability
Most of today's food products are bar coded, and many businesses already provide applications to access, but not many consumers really care and understand the meaning of the origin trace problem.

Due to the lack of uniformity in the content of traceability, as well as not understanding the meaning of the traceability, many people are still indifferent.

In Vietnam, aware of the role of food traceability for businesses and people, by the end of 2019, the Ministry of Health issued regulations on traceability of food products in the field of management Department. According to this document, establishments producing and trading food products must set up a system of data for traceability of food products, keeping full information about the product lot, origin, and food safety, raw materials, production processes, processing, storage and trading.

This is extremely necessary, creating information flow from producers to consumers. For the business enterprise, to build a brand, it is necessary to pay attention to traceability and prove to consumers that their products are safe.

Currently, in Hanoi there are many companies providing traceability solutions, such as VNPT Check, Vinacheck, Agricheck, Traceverified, Icheck and etc. However, the policy of traceability management is not clear, many businesses as well as consumers currently do not fully understand the meaning, do not understand the true nature of the problem of traceability.

According to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong, Director of the Department of Conformity Assessment (Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality), there is still no consensus on the content as well as the form of traceability stamps. Traceability only has very simple information, raising doubts about the effectiveness of the traceability system in the market.

Because there is no consensus on the content of traceability, many consumers are still indifferent, or lack of trust, which is part of the reason why some businesses are not interested in traceability, because if applying the access system, they will lose operating and control costs while the performance is not as expected.

According to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agro-forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance, there is a need for mechanisms to encourage and support cooperation and cooperation in agricultural product production and trading, enhance the application of information technology in traceability of food. If so, the activity of traceability of new products is effective, contributing to improving the quality of life for people.
