Bring productivity to become an important driver of growth
The Prime Minister has just signed Decision No. 36 / QD / TTg on promulgating a master plan to improve productivity based on the basis of science, technology and innovation for the period of 2021 - 2030.
The overall goal of the plan is to make productivity in order to become an important driver of development in industries, through the application of new achievements in science and technology, and management systems, advanced productivity improvement tools combined with research, training and retraining of human resources, in line with the trend of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Implement national science and technology tasks, support businesses in research, innovation, technology transfer and application to improve productivity; formulating and implementing science and technology tasks, plans to improve labor productivity, total factor productivity (TFP) based on science and technology and innovation.
Sharing about the special features of the above plan, Dr. Ha Minh Hiep - Deputy Director of the Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality (QCQL) said that this is the first plan approved by the Prime Minister to productivity.
Previously, at the National Conference on Labor Productivity Improvement chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Prime Minister asked the Ministry of Science and Technology and relevant ministries and agencies to study and develop a master plan to drive productivity on the basis of science, technology and innovation. After that, the Prime Minister also instructed the Ministry of Science and Technology to perform this task.
The Ministry of Science and Technology has proposed to the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) to support Vietnam a research project on the above issue. Together with the Korea Development Research Institute (KDI), the Vietnam Productivity Institute (VNPI) participated in the implementation of this project. After nearly a year of research, the Ministry of Science and Technology has also developed a report on productivity promotion activities in Vietnam based on the foundation of science, technology and innovation. |
