The Prime Minister welcomed the Minister to visit Vietnam on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries; highly appreciated the US side's confirmation that the State Bank of Vietnam successfully implemented the "Action plan on exchange rate and information transparency", contributing to promoting cooperation between the two countries in general and between the two agencies in particular.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam firmly adheres to the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralization and diversification of relations, proactive and active international integration; willing to be a friend, a reliable partner, an active, active and responsible member of the international community.
In the overall foreign policy, Vietnam always considers the US as one of its top important partners, highly appreciating the fact that the two sides have maintained high-level contacts, especially the very successful phone conversation between General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and US President Joe Biden at the end of March.
The two sides expressed their delight at the outstanding development of the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and the United States over the past time, in which the economic-trade relationship is a pillar and a strong driving force. Regarding trade, the bilateral turnover in 2022 reached more than 123 billion USD, making the United States the second largest trading partner and one of the most important export markets of Vietnam. Regarding investment, the United States ranked 11th out of 142 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. |
