ISO 14000 is a set of standards on Environmental Management Systems (Environmental Management Systems) developed and issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to provide standards for identifying, controlling and monitoring the impact of organizations and businesses on the environment. In particular, the ISO 14001 standard belongs to the ISO 14000 series of standards and was first issued in 1996, the second time in 2004 and the third time in 2015.

In Vietnam, on December 31, 2015, the Ministry of Science and Technology announced the national standard TCVN ISO 14001:2015. This TCVN is accepted and completely equivalent to the international standard ISO 14001:2015. This is the latest version and organizations, individuals and businesses are encouraged to apply to replace the old version.

ISO 14001 standard is suitable for all organizations and businesses, regardless of size and type. ISO 14001 has a mission to help businesses improve environmental performance through efficient use of resources and increase revenue and reduce waste.
