From August 1 to 4, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City Technical Standards, Metrology and Quality Center organized a training course for officials, civil servants, public employees and employees of the Departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, Thu Duc City and officials from the Management Board of markets, supermarkets, trade centers as well as officials and employees of public non-business units in the city having activities related to metrology in order to foster and improve professional expertise in metrology under the guidance of the Ministry of Science and Technology. This is a content within the tasks assigned by the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City to the Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality and SMEQ to implement.

Speaking at the opening of the training course, Mrs. Nguyen Thi My Hong - Deputy Director of HCMC Technical Standards, Metrology and Quality Center (SMEQ, under Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology said, implementing Decision No. 520/QD-UBND, dated February 21, 2022 of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on "Plan to enhance innovation in measurement activities to support businesses in the city to improve high competitiveness and international integration, period to 2025, orientation to 2030" and Plan No. 852/KH-SKHCN dated March 16, 2023 of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City on "Strengthening, innovate measurement activities to support businesses in the city to improve competitiveness and international integration 2023".
