The objective of the Project is to support a number of potential public science and technology organizations in the city to develop into centers of applied research, innovation and international standards, contributing to the socio-economic effective development of the City. Specifically, by the end of 2025, there will be 2 units approaching the international level, by 2030 there will be 5 units approaching international standards. In particular, the formation and development of strong research groups and international-standard research centers play a key role in scientific research, technology development and innovation, affirming that position in science and technology of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the country in general.
The International Standard Research Center is one of the "orders" of the Politburo and the Government for Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, the establishment of the center is also associated with Resolution No.98 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of development-specific mechanisms and policies in Ho Chi Minh City. Some key industries targeted by Ho Chi Minh City include artificial intelligence technology, big data technology, robotics, automation technology, advanced 3D printing technology, biotechnology, cell technology, original technology, nanomaterial manufacturing technology, materials for manufacturing micro-electromechanical components and smart sensors, semiconductor materials.
At the talk, experts and scientists gave specific suggestions around the criteria to strive for in the process of building an international standard research and development and innovation center. Many comments mean that, in order to develop strong research groups to become centers of excellence, the criterion for building strong research groups is to develop potential research groups, these research groups must be interdisciplinary and interact with each other. A big scientific problem needs to be interdisciplinary, bringing together interdisciplinary scientists, besides especially a mechanism for foreign experts and scientists. |
