In a partnership with Fulbright University Vietnam, the non-profit organization Water Solutions (from Silicon Valley, USA) has won international funding for its chatbot building initiative "WaterGPT" that combines AI tools with user interface in Vietnamese to support water management, especially saline intrusion.

The project team will train the GPT3.5 and GPT4 models using English and Vietnamese data collected from a variety of sources - including overview documents, local reports, field studies and technology solutions. Users can Q&A with the chatbot to get answers related to solutions on water and saltwater intrusion.

The first version of the chatbot will focus on saline intrusion in the Mekong Delta region.

Vietnam currently has two projects funded by the Gates Foundation - the other is a chatbot that supports gynecological health care for women and the LGBT+ community in Vietnam (VinUni University).

Water.Solutions was established in 2023 with members with diverse expertise in artificial intelligence, public health, climate solutions, sustainable development and startup.
