Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat met with representatives of the Vietnamese scientist community in Germany
To listen to policy proposals, answer questions from scientists, and promote scientific and technological cooperation between Vietnam and Germany, at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in the capital Berlin, the Embassy, the Vietnam Science and Technology Representative Office in Germany and Vietnam - Germany Innovation Network (VGInetwork) jointly organized a meeting between the Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam Nam Huynh Thanh Dat and Vietnamese scientists and intellectuals in Germany, in the evening of June 26, 2024.


Attending the meeting, there were Vietnamese Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany Vu ​​Quang Minh; Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat, leaders of a number of units of the Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Nguyen Hong Son, Director of Hanoi Department of Science and Technology, Mr. Ngo Anh Tin, Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology,... and more than 20 Vietnamese scientists working at universities and Germany famous businesses in the fields of health, information technology and environment.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat affirmed that in recent years, Vietnamese people abroad and overseas Vietnamese intellectuals have always turned towards the Fatherland, standing side by side with the nation and the domestic science and technology community that contributes greatly and practically to the cause of building and developing the country. A team of more than 500,000 overseas Vietnamese intellectuals, many of whom hold important positions in prestigious research institutes, universities, and business corporations around the world. They are  valuable scientific human resources for innovation in Vietnam, including many important contributions from the Community of Vietnamese scientists in Germany.

Here, the Minister shared about the potential and outstanding achievements of Vietnam's S&T, science, technology and innovation are identified by the Party and Government as one of the strategic breakthroughs, a driving force for Promote the speed and quality of growth, helping Vietnam achieve the goal of becoming a modern industrial country by 2030 and a developed country with high income by 2045.

In recent years, the legal corridor on Science and Technology has been increasingly improved, creating a favorable environment for research and innovation activities. In particular, in 2022, the Government and National Assembly of Vietnam passed a very important document: Strategy for developing science, technology and innovation until 2030, opening up a policy and legal corridor more favorable to promote strong development of the innovation ecosystem in Vietnam; Encourage scientific research, technological development and innovation
