Startup from scientific research results
Currently, many scientific and technological products help private enterprises gain a foothold in the market. However, many scientific research in public units cannot be immediately brought to the market due to legal regulations.

Engineer Luong Van Truong, Director of Southern Ocean Youth Cooperative shared: Born and raised in Nam Dinh, his childhood was closely associated with rice, understanding the hardships of farmers, Mr. Truong always cherished Nurturing dreams, finding solutions to help farmers save costs, labor and reduce costs in farming. In 2007, he began research. At the beginning, everything was quite favorable because of the small scale (7 hectares), however, when the scale was large, things started to arise, the biggest risk was natural disasters.

The important turning point was in 2018, when it rained continuously for 22 days, the rice died wherever it fell, and the entire crop failed. During that process, he realized that some seeds were kept for a long time but if there were favorable conditions, they would still revive normally. From that discovery, he conducted research on pre-sprouted seeds.

That solution helped farmers not need to soak seeds; Seeds germinate after 30 minutes; Dry seeds, physically durable, easy to use for large capacity sowing machines; Can be applied to many different types of seeds with low production costs. The solution won third prize in the "Scientific Innovation" contest in 2023. Currently, this solution has been applied by many provinces and cities: Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Son La, Hai Duong and etc.; There is even an international unit negotiating technology transfer.

Dr. Trinh Thi Hoa, co-founder of Buyo Bioplastics Company, said: Plastic waste is a global environmental problem. In recent years, Vietnam has also been one of the places with the highest plastic emissions in the world. Before establishing the company in September 2022, Dr. Hoa and his colleagues did a lot of research on plastic replacement products. Vietnam is known to be rich in organic materials and the company's team has taken advantage of those materials to find plastic replacement products from organic wastes that are safe for health.

During the production process, the unit prioritizes fuel circulation and absolutely does not discharge waste, helping to protect the environment and aim for zero emissions. This technology has received many awards from the science community, the product was well be welcomed by the market and the business attracted 800,000 USD from international investors. To expand the market, businesses share, it is necessary to have preferential policies, encourage new materials to replace plastic, and prioritize the development of circular economy businesses.
