Human resource supply center for semiconductor industry
Alchip Technologies, Taiwan's leading AI chip design service provider, is stepping up its hunt for Vietnamese talents to join its research and development (R&D) team and is planning to open its first office in Vietnam this year, Nikkei Asia reported.

Alchip Technologies will increase the number of engineers at this office to 100 people within the next 2-3 years, according to CFO Daniel Wang.

Alchip Technologies Chairman and CEO Johnny Shen said that Vietnam's promising source of talented engineers with professional ethics became a very attractive option for the group, and expressed his impression of the dedication and commitment of Vietnamese engineers.

According to the article, the above search also includes GUC and Faraday Technology, chip design service providers for TSMC chip manufacturing group and United Microelectronics (UMC), both of Taiwan.

Korean companies are also interested in Vietnam’s source of technology engineers, to compensate for the brain drain in the country. At a recent discussion between tech company leaders and Korea’s Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups Oh Youngju, CEOs called for easing visa regulations to attract foreign talent. The country most mentioned in the discussion was Vietnam.

According to Nikkei Asia, the abundant source of technology human resources in the context of the world's semiconductor industry's labor shortage can help Vietnam improve its position in the global technology value chain. American technology company Marvell describes Vietnam as having a strategic position to develop technical talent. Marvell aims to increase the number of technology engineers in Vietnam to about 500 people by 2026, not only for its offices in Ho Chi Minh City but also for its new office in Da Nang.
