The Law on Nuclear Energy 2008 and its implementing documents have institutionalized the Party's policy and the Government's strategy on nuclear energy. After more than 15 years of implementation, the Law has created a legal basis for nuclear energy activities in Vietnam, promoted the application of nuclear energy in socio-economic development, raised awareness of the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, and strengthened safety, security management, and incident prevention.

Deputy Minister Le Xuan Dinh emphasized the state management role of the Ministry of Science and Technology in the field of nuclear energy, radiation and nuclear safety, and affirmed that the Law on Nuclear Energy is an important legal basis for implementing the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Project and international cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.
