Can Tho City announced the decision and implemented the organization, merger and establishment of 06 new Departments
In the afternoon of February 20, 2025, at the Can Tho City People's Committee Hall, a Conference was held to deploy the Resolutions of the City People's Council on the establishment of specialized agencies under the City People's Committee and to announce the Decisions of the Chairman of the City People's Committee on personnel work.


Establishment of specialized agencies under the Can Tho City People's Committee, including:
- Decision to appoint Mr. Le Thanh Tam as Director of the Department of Finance on the basis of merging the Department of Finance and the Department of Planning and Investment.
- Decision on Mr. Le Tien Dung to hold the position of Director of the Department of Construction on the basis of merging the Department of Construction and the Department of Transport
- Decision on Mr. Ngo Anh Tin to hold the position of Director of the Department of Science and Technology on the basis of merging the Department of Information and Communications and the Department of Science and Technology
- Decision on Mr. Chau Viet Tha to hold the position of Director of the Department of Home Affairs on the basis of merging the Department of Home Affairs and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs
- Decision on Mr. Tran Phu Loc Thanh to hold the position of Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment on the basis of merging the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
- Decision to appoint Mr. Le Trung Kien as Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions on the basis of the Ethnic Minorities Committee and to take over the state management function of religion from the Department of Home Affairs.
In addition, reorganize and maintain specialized agencies under the City People's Committee, including the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Department of Education and Training; Department of Justice; Department of Health; Department of Industry and Trade; Department of Foreign Affairs; Office of the City People's Committee; Can Tho City Inspectorate.
