On June 20, at the Soc Trang Provincial Cultural and Convention Center, the Department of Science and Technology held a launching and handover ceremony for the Soc Trang Provincial Information Security Monitoring Center (SOC).
|
This project, approved in October 2021, has a total investment of more than 24 billion VND from the local budget, aiming to improve the ability to monitor, detect and respond to cybersecurity threats throughout the province. The system has been officially put into operation from May and is operating effectively at the Provincial Data Integration Center, supporting the processing of nearly 7,700 warnings about malware and unusual behaviors.
The Soc Trang Province SOC Center allows for centralized monitoring of network activities of units in the province, timely warning of signs of cyber attacks, data leaks or other security risks. In addition, the system also connects and shares data with the National Cyber Security Monitoring Center, contributing to improving defense capabilities and coordinating the fight nationwide. The smooth coordination between agencies, such as the Department of Science and Technology and the Provincial Police helps handle incidents more quickly and effectively.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Van Khoi, emphasized the importance of ensuring information security in the process of building digital government, smart cities and comprehensive digital transformation. The successful operation of the SOC Center helps the province proactively monitor, warn and handle cyber security incidents, thereby protecting data of the government, people and businesses, contributing to promoting sustainable and safer development in the digital era. |
