Enhancing information security capabilities for the collective economic sector in the Mekong Delta region.
(CTO) - The training course aims to equip managers and consultants with the necessary knowledge and skills to enhance their capacity to support cooperatives in adapting to the digital environment.

On April 20th and 21st, in Can Tho City, the Central College of Economics and Technology under the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance organized a training course titled "Enhancing the capacity for consulting, supporting, and developing collective and cooperative economies while ensuring information security in cyberspace" for management and consulting staff from the Cooperative Alliances of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region.

According to the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, in the trend of digitalization, many cooperatives have proactively applied technology to production, business, and market expansion through online platforms. However, limitations in technical infrastructure, resources, and technological skills have left many cooperatives facing the risk of information insecurity, fraud, or theft of important data.

In Can Tho City, the collective economic sector is developing strongly with 890 cooperatives and 9 cooperative unions, with a total charter capital of over 1,538 billion VND, attracting over 51,000 members. Despite actively promoting digital transformation in agriculture, transportation, and services, the information protection capacity of many units remains limited. For example, in early 2026, the city recorded a case of a cooperative being defrauded online, resulting in losses of nearly 950 million VND.

The training course focuses on topics such as: identifying digital assets, managing risks in the online environment, protecting online data and accounts, preventing online fraud, and identifying fake news… The aim is to equip staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to help managers and consultants improve their capacity to support cooperatives in adapting to the digital environment.

Within the framework of the training program, trainees and instructors exchanged and discussed methods for applying digital tools to support local cooperatives in identifying and preventing risks and enhancing information security in cyberspace.
