Under the intense April heat, the once-parched lands surrounding Ong Kinh Lake in Vinh Hai Commune, Khanh Hoa Province, are undergoing a remarkable transformation. What was previously known as one of the region’s harshest drought zones is now flourishing with green fields of shallots, garlic, chili, and other crops. Thanks to a strategic irrigation connection established in August 2025, freshwater from the Tan My reservoir system has fundamentally changed both the landscape and the livelihoods of local farmers, turning a long-suffering “drought heartland” into a symbol of agricultural renewal and sustainable hope.
CAN THO - Despite its potential for agricultural tourism, Tan Hoa commune still faces challenges that need to be addressed. The local authorities are hoping for a boost from connections between businesses and residents.
CAN THO – Through the Project for 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice, a business in Can Tho City has organized production linkages and guaranteed the purchase of nearly 1,000 hectares of rice.
Abandoning the habit of 'using excessive fertilizer to ensure a good rice harvest,' many farmers in the Mekong Delta are changing their rice cultivation methods, gradually reducing emissions, protecting the soil, and moving towards green agriculture.
CAN THO - Amidst the Lung Ngoc Hoang wetland, a population of wild rice plants is quietly thriving, preserving valuable genetic resources for research, conservation, and rice breeding.
CAN THO: Developing a circular economy in ruminant livestock farming is an effective approach to utilizing resources, reducing emissions, limiting environmental pollution, and preventing diseases.
CAN THO - The rural area of Lieu Tu (Can Tho City), viewed from a business perspective, has become attractive and full of potential for developing organic rice farming and agro-tourism.
From small ponds in the Mekong Delta, after more than 35 years, pangasius fish has reached the world market, asserting its position as a key export commodity and making the Mekong Delta a leading freshwater aquaculture center.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is developing a draft of a new set of OCOP criteria, aiming for fundamental innovation in evaluating, classifying, and improving the quality of rural products.
The criteria for "digital villages, smart villages" represent a practical approach, integrating technology into production and daily life, and creating a foundation for sustainable development from the grassroots level.
