With over 423,000 industrial property applications received and more than 255,000 protection certificates granted during 2021–2025, intellectual property activities in Vietnam have shown clear growth. However, to turn potential into a driving force for development, it is necessary to continue improving the legal framework and promote the exploitation and commercialization of intellectual property assets in the coming period.
In the morning of August 12, 2024, the Ministry of Science and Technology organized an online workshop to guide the collection and provision of data and supporting documents for the calculation of the local innovation index (PII) in 2024.
On August 7, 2024, An Phu District People's Committee coordinated with An Giang Province Department of Science and Technology to organize a "Training conference on legal documents on trademarks, measurements, quality and product labels in gold jewelry and fine arts business activities in 2024" with the participation of representatives: Departments under the District People's Committee; civil servants in charge of local science and technology; People's Committees at commune, ward and town levels; Especially organizations trading and producing gold jewelry and fine arts in An Phu district, with a total of about 50 delegates attending the conference.
The Vietnamese Rice brand is gradually taking shape on the basis of sustainable production, thanks to programs, such as the 1 million hectare rice project and the application of new technologies.
In the current context of globalization and economic integration, intellectual property (IP) plays an increasingly key role in promoting creativity, innovation and national competitiveness.
On April 16, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Science Institute (VIPRI) and the Minh Duc Intellectual Property Management Institute organized a workshop with the theme "Some issues on assessing the scope of protection of industrial property rights."
World Intellectual Property Day 2025 will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 20 with the theme “Intellectual Property and Music: Feeling the Rhythm of Intellectual Property”.
In celebration of World Intellectual Property Day 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Intellectual Property Association and the Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics, will organize a video clip creation contest with the theme “Ho Chi Minh City Students with Intellectual Property”.
Luc Ngan oranges stand out with three main varieties: CS1 oranges, Duong Canh oranges and V2 oranges. Of which, Duong Canh oranges have beautiful, red ripe fruit with a rich sweet taste, while V2 oranges, also known as yellow-heart oranges, are larger in size, ripe yellow, with a sweet and characteristic aroma.
On March 25, at the workshop “Sharing experiences in intellectual property education for high school students in Vietnam”, Ms. Tedla Altaye, Head of Online Training Department of WIPO Academy, emphasized that intellectual property is not simply a right or protection mechanism, but also an essential aspect of creativity.
