On October 11, Hai Phong City delegation led by Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong worked with the Ai20X Startup Support Center and the USA Fab Semiconductor Company in the United States and Canada. The purpose of the trip is to promote innovative startup cooperation and build a startup ecosystem for Hai Phong.
In the morning of October 11, Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology collaborated with GREEN IN Company to organize a Workshop “Net Zero Target - The journey starts with greenhouse gas inventory.” The workshop aimed to find sustainable solutions to achieve the Net Zero target.
In the morning of October 2, the Department of Science and Technology held a meeting of the Advisory Council to review documents for the provincial-level science and technology task entitled "Assessing the current situation, identifying potentials and proposing solutions for socio-economic and environmental development of Dong Thap province in the period of 2026 - 2030".
The 86th Meeting of the ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation (COSTI-86) took place from October 7-11, 2024 in Singapore. The Vietnamese delegation, including representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology, along with relevant ministries and agencies, attended to update the activities of the 9 Sub-committees, report on the implementation of tasks in 2024 and approve key tasks in 2025.
Straw, after each rice harvest, is often burned, causing serious environmental pollution. To solve this problem, the use of antagonistic fungi Trichoderma sp. has become the optimal method, not only helping to treat straw but also creating a source of organic fertilizer for the soil.
In recent times, Can Tho City has focused on mobilizing all investment resources, especially focusing on science and technology (S&T) to promote socio-economic development. Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology said that from 2004 to 2023, the city has implemented more than 16,380 S&T tasks. These tasks have helped solve important problems in production and social development, while contributing to the city's development policy orientation.
The closing ceremony of Techfest Cao Bang on October 10th saw the participation of 24 startup ideas and projects, mainly focusing on the fields of agriculture, tourism, and cuisine - the province's strengths. After many rounds of evaluation, 14 projects advanced to the final round, including 8 projects in the tourism sector.
Ho Chi Minh City has implemented the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program since 2018, recognizing 255 products from 87 entities, of which 79 products met 4-star standards. In the first 10 months of 2024, 121 OCOP products were recognized, with 43 products meeting 4-star standards.
In the afternoon of August 30, within the framework of the Danang Innovation and Startup Festival - SURF 2024, a Workshop "Connecting Danang - Korea - Singapore Investment and Innovation" took place. The event attracted the participation of more than 300 delegates and experts from Vietnam, Korea, Singapore, and etc.
Within the framework of the city-level science and technology task "Management and development of collective trademarks with established rights for Tuy Loan Rice Paper" under the Intellectual Property Development Program until 2030, on August 30, 2024, at the Hall of Hoa Phong Commune People's Committee, Energy Saving and Technology Transfer Consulting Center under Da Nang City Department of Science and Technology, the unit in charge of implementing the task, organized a training course on knowledge on the production linkage model and product development according to the value chain for the subjects of production and trading of products bearing the collective trademark "Tuy Loan Rice Paper".
