On August 11, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Association of Young Intellectuals in Science and Technology (VAYSE) held a ceremony to celebrate its 20th anniversary (August 10, 2004 - August 10, 2024). Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (Vusta) Phan Xuan Dung attended the ceremony.

Over the past 20 years, more than 70% of the science and technology tasks deployed and accepted at the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Park have been put into application, contributing to the creation of new plant varieties with high productivity and quality.

In recent times in Phu Yen province, activities related to measurement and quality have been improved through cooperation between state management agencies and enterprises.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang requested ministries, sectors and localities to promote the application of digital technology to promptly detect and handle acts and tricks of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the context of strong development of e-commerce.

On August 8, 2024, the leaders of the National Committee for Standards, Metrology and Quality had working sessions with the leaders of Son La province Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality and the leaders of Bac Giang province Department of Science and Technology of on Directive No. 38-CT/TW of the Secretariat of the Central Party Executive Committee on promoting national standards, metrology and quality work until 2030 and the following years in the locality.

On August 9, 2024, Phu Tho Provincial Union of Associations presided and coordinated with Viet Tri University of Industry to organize a workshop on social consultation, criticism and appraisal on: Digital transformation at professional educational institutions in Phu Tho province. MSc. Khong Manh Tien - Vice President of Phu Tho Provincial Union of Associations; Dr. Tran Thi Hang - Vice Principal of Viet Tri University of Industry co-chaired the workshop.

On August 8, 2024, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology held a press conference to launch Tran Dai Nghia Award 2025. The third Tran Dai Nghia Award (2025) is expected to be presented on the occasion of the anniversary of Science and Technology Day and the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

The Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Conference 2024 with the theme “New Horizons” is scheduled to take place on August 18, 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City. The conference will bring the latest advances in generative artificial intelligence technology, especially with the direct participation of Dr. Jeff Dean - Chief Scientist of Google, a world-leading expert in this field.

In order to evaluate the city-level acceptance of the science and technology project "Research on the situation of puberty and some issues on reproductive health care of female high school students in Can Tho city", Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology held a Council meeting in the afternoon of August 9, 2024. MSc. Tran Hoai Phuong - Deputy Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology was the Chairman of the Council. The study was carried out by Dr. Nguyen Tan Dat. Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy was an implementing agency.

On August 1, 2024, Climate Change Research Institute (Can Tho University) collaborated with Oxfam in Vietnam to organize a consultation meeting on gender mainstreaming in agricultural transformation, greenhouse gas emission reduction and water resource management in the Mekong Delta.
