From September 21-22, 2023, in Quy Nhon city (Binh Dinh province), the Ministry of Information and Communications, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province and the Vietnam Informatics Association jointly organized a seminar on Vietnam ICT development cooperation for the 24th time in 2023.

Recently, the State Council of Professors announced a list of 695 candidates (not including candidates in Security Science and Military Science) who were recommended by the Grassroots Professor Council to be considered and recognized as meeting the standards of the position Professor and Associate Professor titles in 2023. Compared to 2022, the list of candidates for recognition of meeting the standards of Professor and Associate Professor titles this year increased by 249 people (in 2022 there were 446 candidates).

Ho Chi Minh City National University established the Circuit Design and Training Center (ICDREC) in 2005 and the Nanotechnology Laboratory (LNT), now the Institute of Nanotechnology (INT). In 2010, semiconductor microchips were added to the list of high technology and high technology products prioritized for investment and development according to Decision No. 49/2010/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. In 2012, microchips were identified as a national product according to Decision No. 439/QD-TTg dated April 16, 2012 of the Prime Minister. In 2012, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also issued the Microchip Industry Development Program for the period of 2013-2020, with a vision to 2030. The above moves affirm the determination to develop the IC industry in Vietnam in general and of Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

In 2 days, August 30 - 31, 2023, Jeonbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center (JBCCEI), Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Ho Chi Minh City Application of Science and Technology Advancement Center - Saigon Innovation Hub (SIHUB) and Korea-Vietnam Trade Promotion Center KORETOVIET co-organized the Korea-Vietnam High-end Multidisciplinary Exhibition MEGA US EXPO and awarded the UNIV.STAR Student Startup Idea Contest 2023.

Recently, the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (TĐC) organized a Workshop on Improving the efficiency of product and goods quality testing activities. The workshop is an opportunity to share the advantages, difficulties and problems in state management and practice of product and goods quality testing activities.

On August 29, 2023, the National Innovation Center (NIC) collaborated with the Japan Trade Promotion Agency (JETRO) and the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam to co-organize the program announcement ceremony "Inno Vietnam - Japan Fast Track Pitch 2023” (Vietnam - Japan Innovation: The Road to Success). The program was first held in Vietnam and is expected to become an annual event within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Planning and Investment (Vietnam) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.

On August 26, 2023, Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology and the City's Young Entrepreneurs Association coordinated with Maritime University and Hai Phong University to organize Hai Phong semi-finals of the innovation startup talent search Contest 2023.

On August 31, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology organized a conference "Connecting public service businesses with technology and equipment solution suppliers, aiming to use the Science and Technology Development Fund". The conference aims to guide the process of implementing scientific and technological tasks for groups of public service enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City, and provide guidance on tax obligations when public service enterprises appropriate and use science and technology development fund. At the same time, connect technology providers - new equipment, green technologies, and energy efficiency with public service businesses.
