Brain scanner reading the human mind

|
U.S. scientists have created a portable brain scanner first in the world to promote breakthroughs in medicine.
|
This scanner will soon be developed further to be able to read people's minds. IBrain fits to the scanner head and measuring neurological parameters connected with the specific thought process.
"We are building the technology that allows human beings access to the first human brain," the leader off scanner project, Dr. Phillip Low, said.
The ultimate goal is to have enough databases of brain waves for a computer to read the thoughts of a particular person.
A doctor tried iBrain is world-renowned physicist Stephen Hawking. Dr. Low said he went to England to meet Dr. Hawking - who is asked to "think deeply" about the performance of many different tasks while wearing the scanner.
Scanner can be used to help doctors accurately inventory levels medicine based on the reply of the patient's brain waves. In addition, the machine can be used to help treat insomnia, depression, even autism.
"This is the first step leading to personalized health," Dr. Low said. Scanner can be used at home, wear during sleep. It has a USB port to transfer data collected to the computer. |
