Hightech tables help child learning math
Mathematics has always been one of the most difficult subjects for students. To help them reduce some of the pressure in the process of studying this subject, experts Durham University (UK) has conducted a research project named SynergyNet.

Results after 3 years of research, they invented multi-touch tables NumberNet, features support user being good at math.

For use on 400 students aged 8-10 years in 12 schools showed that the tables NumberNet are able to receive the commands given by multiple users at the same time through the system detect infrared light. These tables allow student groups together to solve problems. Meanwhile, the teacher will review the results directly from these tables and can intervene if receive find a group of students in the calculations wrong. They can also offer new challenges for the separate groups, send the answers of the group to another to view or project it by the table in front of the class for other students to discuss.

After a period of testing, the team found compared with starting time of the study, 45% of students using the NumberNet table are progressive in math, while this rate in math of  group from paper only16 percent. "Our goal is to encourage students more active in learning, because they have knowledge sharing, problem solving and creativity rather than listening passively" - Professor Liz Burd, who led the study, said. However, the limitation of this smart desk is its cost fairly expensive and complex technical installations, so it is not widely used in schools.
