Baker Stove Saves Wood and Lives
The Baker Stove was designed for the women of the developing world, providing them an energy efficient cookstove that can be incorporated into their cooking traditions.
Most women in the developing world cook on a “three-stone fire,” a sort of tripod of large stones supporting a pot over a fire. The designers of the Baker Stove took this into account, creating a stove made of recycled aluminum that requires one-third the wood of an open fire and produces 56 percent less carbon monoxide emissions.
The stoves will be manufactured locally by a company registered in Kenya. |
