The workshop attracts approximately 300 delegates from various ministries, sectors, institutes, people’s committees and DOST, DARD in 63 cities, provinces in nationwide area.  

The meeting is expected with 10 DOST aggregate reports and 10 presentation reports from various units, such as DOST, DARD, MOIT, MOH, MOET, Ha Noi National University, Plant Resources Center, Institute of Traditional Medicine - Department of Defense, Aquaculture Research Institute III, Vietnam forestry Science Institute and Institute for Food Industry.

The reports will focus on some key issues, such as: assessing results of science and technology activity for conservation of genetic resources in the past few years, focusing orientations and tasks; preserve and exploit Vietnam genetic resources: results and orientations, status and solutions in conservation task improvement for MOST genetic resources; preserving genetic resources of OIT plants and microorganisms, in period 2001 -2013 and orientation to 2020,  result of preservation tasks of medicinal genetic plant resources serve national defense in Military Medicine institute.

According to the organizers, workshop aims to assess results of DOST activities in preservation of genetic resources in the past few years, focus on the orientations and tasks in order to meet “national strategy on biodiversity to 2020 and the vision to 2030” as well as” DOST development strategy  period 2011-2020” which has been approved by Prime Minister.
