Accordingly, the provincial agriculture branch will promote the research application of radiation to produce new varieties, develop preliminary processing technologies and preserve agricultural products after harvest.

Specifically, Lam Dong province will apply radiation technologies to create mutation based on available varieties sources or imported from countries with developing biotechnologies. However, mutations in crops benefit for yield and production will be selected and expanded by tissue culture technologies. Radiation activity found new seeds that mainly focused on strength trees of Lam Dong, such as vegetables, flowers, tea, coffee, fruit, and some kinds of fungi.

According to calculations of the province, to 2020, the number of mutant varieties accounted for 5-10% of the total varieties in the province. Especially, paying attention to the development of 5-10 mutant flowers lines with high biological superiorities. That creates mutant follower seeds to attract to the domestic and international markets.

Expectedly, Lam Dong province will build a radiation center with industrial scale and develop electronic accelerators to speed up the process of research applications from nuclear research facilities in the provincial area. Concurrently, facilitating development of nuclear medicine, environmental monitoring technologies and hydro-meteorological forecasts. The province also plans to create conditions for the private units, foreign investors to develop nuclear technologies for high-tech agriculture.
