On September 20, 2017, at Can Tho Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, it took place the workshop of "Strengthening the application of the program of reducing 3, rising 3, having 1 reducing 5 towards sustainable development." The workshop is part of the program of the VNSAT project.

Attending the workshop, there were representatives of 3 provinces and cities in the program of VNSAT project in the Mekong Delta (Soc Trang province), Hau Giang province and Ho Chi Minh city, Can Tho city. The workshop is an opportunity for the 3 provinces and cities to meet and discuss the strengths and limitations of each locality when applying VNSAT program.
Mr. Le Anh Tuan - Capacity enhancement expert of the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) analyzed the issues related to the renovation of cultivation methods and plant varieties; Models have been successfully applied in advanced countries. The workshop took place very exciting; representatives of the units presented ideas about the climate and quality of local plant varieties in turn. All exchanges are to improve the implementation of the VNSAT program. At the end of the workshop, delegates agreed to work together to implement the plan to help the Mekong Delta towards sustainable development.
VNSAT - Sustainable agricultural transformation, the project funded loan by the World Bank (WB), will be implemented for the period 2015-2020. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the implementation of the agricultural restructuring project; Renovation of sustainable farming practices and upgrading of value chains for rice and coffee in the two major commodity production regions of Vietnam, the Mekong Delta and the Central Highlands. |
