In the afternoon of January 26, 2018, at the meeting hall of Can Tho City Party Committee, it took place a scientific workshop "Restructuring mechanical enterprises of Can Tho city in the direction of the fourth industrial revolution.", organized by Department of Industry and Trade and the Association of Social Sciences and Humanities of Can Tho City to contribute to the development of the mechanical industry of Can Tho City, linking the development of Mekong Delta provinces and Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Truong Phan Hoai Nam - Deputy of Can Tho City People's Committee delivered the opening speech.
Attending the workshop, there were representatives of leaders of Can Tho City, Propaganda Committee, Department of Industry and Trade of Mekong delta provinces, Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, departments, branches, institutes and schools in Can Tho City; Enterprises operate in mechanical fields in the Mekong Delta, newspapers and radio stations.

Attending the workshop, participants listened to 20 reports, discussed and exchanged with scientists, managers and nearly 100 enterprises from Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho City and Mekong Delta, opening up the connection and development of the mechanical industry.

The scientific workshop aimed in the direction of modernization, mechanisms and policies to support businesses to find solutions for restructuring the mechanical industry in Can Tho City, enhancing the role and development of the mechanical industry for the period of industrialization and modernization of the country so far to 2030.
