For many years, Ministry of Science and Technology (S & T) has applied research programs on science and technology in agriculture. This has contributed to raising productivity and quality of agricultural products, achieving high economic efficiency.

At present, high-tech agriculture is considered as an agricultural application of new technologies, such as the development of new varieties, pest-resistant varieties, advanced irrigation technologies and land saving technologies; To manage and organize production in order to raise the productivity and quality of agricultural products and achieve high economic efficiency.

For many years, Ministry of Science and Technology (S & T) has applied research programs on science and technology in agriculture. Accordingly, thanks to the results of S & T research on varieties, cultivation techniques, pest control, building and protection of intellectual property, Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) became a large fruit tree growing area over 26 thousand hectares of fruit trees, such as litchi, orange, grapefruit, longan and apple. Income from fruit growing reached over 3 trillion VND / year.

Dong Thap Province has the advantage of Cat Chu mango, with nearly 10 thousand hectares, total income of 2,300 billion VND per year and currently exporting to Japan and Korea.

The application of science and technology also promoted the development of the value chain of coconut trees with the area planted up to 69 thousand hectares, created more than 30 products with high added value, income reached 5,400 billion VND per year, employment almost 13% of population in Ben Tre province.
