On April 11, in Hanoi, Vietnam Association of Science and Technology for Energy Efficiency and Conservation, Department of Industry and Trade (MOIT) collaborated with Korea Integrated Heat and Power Corporation to organize a workshop on "Improving energy efficiency in industrial zone – Industrial cluster in Vietnam" in order to find optimal solutions for energy supply in industrial zones - industrial clusters and inhabitants.

Mr. Kim Bo Soo, Vice Chairman of the Korea District Heating Corporation, shared the experiences of energy conservation efficiency.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Do Huu Hao, President of Vietnam Association for Science and Technology for Energy Efficiency and Conservation said that energy plays an important role in the process of socio-economic development of Vietnam, especially for the development of industrial production in general and the industrial clusters in particular.
According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, by 2017, the country had 325 large industrial zones and thousands of small and medium industrial zones. In which, 220 large industrial zones had been put into operation and 105 industrial zones in the period of compensation for ground clearance and basic construction, more than 10,000 zones - small and medium industrial zones in Vietnam are continuing to form and develop. With a large number of existing industrial parks, applying energy efficiency solutions will help save significant energy consumption annually. Preliminary calculations show that the potential for energy conservation in industry is highly valued at around 20-30%.
