At the meeting, Deputy Minister Bui The Duy informed the high-level business delegation of the US-ASEAN Business Council, the outstanding results of the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2018 as well as the activities that will be prioritized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2019.

At the same time, he expressed his desire to promote cooperation between enterprises of Vietnam and the United States as well as promoting investment in Vietnam (especially Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park), in which priority is given to those strong areas of both sides, such as renewable energy, clean energy, new materials, biotechnology, medicine, high-tech agricultural applications and etc.

In addition, the Deputy Minister asked the United States to enhance the exchange of experiences on the reuse of wastes, and excess energy in the ecological industrial zone, in collaboration with Vietnam to determine the needs and plans of cooperation and support of the US business community for start-up businesses as well as small and medium-sized enterprises in Vietnam to innovate technologies, business models and etc.

Thanks to the leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology for taking the time to welcome and work with the delegation, Mr. Michael Michalak said, he personally is very interested in the topic of innovation and policies that Vietnam is aiming to develop innovation as well as startups, small and medium enterprises, and Vietnam's digital economy.

He also pledged to be ready to be a bridge to help the Ministry of Science and Technology and its member units to provide information and suggestions to the competent agencies of the United States.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides expressed their desire to cooperate between the Ministry of Science and Technology and US enterprises will become stricter and develop stronger in the future.
