In the framework of the National Program "Improving productivity and quality of products and goods of Vietnamese enterprises up to 2020", the Center for Standards, Metrology and Quality 2 (QUATEST 2) is the host carrying out the mission "Researching and applying ISO 45001: 2018 occupational health and safety management system standards to Vietnamese enterprises." This task was approved by Decision No. 1802 / QD-BKHCN of the Ministry of Science and Technology, which began in 2017.

The mission includes pilot application for 5 businesses and scaling up for 15 businesses across the country. Pilot application started from March 2018 to December 2018, and replication was implemented in 2019.

Based on the experience gained from the pilot application of ISO 45001, in 2019 QUATEST 2 continued to expand its mission to 15 businesses across the country. Businesses participating in the mission have worked closely with QUATEST 2 in the implementation of work items at their units.

In order to create favorable conditions for businesses to access and apply the world's advanced standards to improve the efficiency of the management of labor safety and sanitation in general, occupational safety and health in particular, supporting initiatives for sustainable development, ensuring people safer and healthier and contributing to increased profits for businesses, proposing to continue scaling up the application of the ATSKNN Management System according to ISO 45001 for the types of enterprises across the country, especially those on the list of heavy, hazardous and dangerous occupations and jobs, and the extremely heavy, hazardous and hazardous occupational safety and sanitation work lists.
