At the seminar "Vision for Vietnam in a digital transformation era' organized by UPGen Vietnam in collaboration with the Institute for Economic and Policy Research (VEPR) in the afternoon of July 15, the speakers discussed other interpretations about the digital economy.
In which, Prof. Dr. Ho Tu Bao - Director of the Data Science Laboratory of the Institute of Advanced Mathematics, Director of Science at the John von Neumann Institute - said that understanding the digital economy is the economy objects with digital applications.
According to Professor Bao, society often misunderstands that doing physical economy to digital economy is doing a completely different job. In fact, the only way to interact with inherent objects is different, that is now more digital interaction space.
However, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet, former Director of the Institute of Information Technology, Hanoi National University, disagreed with this view. He said that in order to build a digital economy, it is necessary to change the thinking about the business model. If the business model changes, customers and products will be different.
Further analyzing the story of Associate Professor Nguyen Ai Viet, Dr. Nguyen Duc Thanh said that technology has helped businesses realize the new value of production. The data from how the car becomes valuable information not only for the manufacturing company but also for the unit that designs and builds the road. However, in order to have such data, the company must continue to produce and not be able to do nothing. |
