With the goal of eliminating equipment manufactured by old technologies, consuming a lot of energy, on May 24, 2023, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 14/2023/QD-TTg on stipulating the list of and the roadmap for means and equipment using energy to be eliminated and low-efficiency generators not to be built new, replacing Decision No. 24/2018/QD-TTg. The new decision has added a list of equipment, accompanied by changes to the national standard TCVN.

The equipment in this list must meet the minimum level of energy efficiency (the index indicating the ability to convert input energy into output energy) specified in the TCVN, otherwise it will be banned from import, production and business.

To implement this Decision, the Ministry of Science and Technology will be implementation unit, coordinate with related parties to jointly deploy solutions to support elimination, and at the same time develop national standards on energy efficiency quantity of energy-intensive vehicles and equipment.
