Speaking at the competition round, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang (Director of the Center for Research and Application of STEM Education - Ho Chi Minh City University of Education) said that the "International drone programming contest 2023 - Conquer the sky" helps students maximize their abilities of programming and problem-solving thinking, thereby ordering the drone to overcome obstacles. This is also a good opportunity for gifted and passionate students in the fields of programming and technology in Vietnam to compete, rub and learn from friends around the world.

The Southern Regional Competition "International Drone Programming 2023 - Conquering the Sky" was organized into two groups, the Middle School Board and the High School Board, with the participation of 100 contestants from the southern provinces, such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and etc. The 10 best candidates in the southern region will join the 10 best contestants in the region. The Northern region will represent Vietnam in the final round in Korea in October 2023.

As a result, the first prize in the lower secondary group belonged to contestant Bui Van Vinh (Nguyen Binh Khiem Middle School, Ho Chi Minh City), the first prize in the high school group belonged to contestant Tran Dinh Huy Van (Trung Vuong High School, Ho Chi Minh City). The second prize in the lower secondary group was awarded to contestant Le Minh (Le Van Huu Middle School, HCMC), and the second prize in the high school group was awarded to contestant Tran Thanh Dat (Chi Lang High School, Gia Lai).

It is known that the "International drone programming contest 2023 - Conquer the sky" in Vietnam is an official activity of the global drone programming competition system, authorized by the Korea Model Aviation Association (KAMA) and FAI International. The contest system has been held annually since 2018, attracting thousands of contestants from developed countries, such as the US, France, UK, Korea and etc.
