On August 7, 2023, at the ICISE Center, the 30th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam Meeting Science Association (1993-2023) and 10 years of ICISE's operation (2013-2023) took place.
Attending the ceremony, there were Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Council; Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee; representatives of relevant departments, agencies, and hundreds of domestic and international scientists, including Prof. Gerard 't Hooft (Utrecht University, Netherlands, Nobel Prize in Physics 1999); Prof. Dam Thanh Son (University of Chicago, USA) and etc.
The conference took place from August 6-12, 2023 with the opening session in the morning of August 7, 2023, and 31 sessions (plenary and specialized topics) on astrophysics, high-energy physics.
Vietnam Meeting Science Assosiation was estlished by Prof. Tran Thanh Van (French overseas Vietnamese) in France in 1993 to connect, cooperate, support and help to contribute to the development of science and higher education in Vietnam. In 2012, the Association became an official partner of UNESCO.
In August 2008, Prof. Tran Thanh Van, President of Vietnam Meeting Science Assosiation and his wife is Prof. Le Kim Ngoc, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Children in France, came to Quy Nhon City to meet leaders of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee in order to survey the implementation of the ICSE project. With the consent and support from the Prime Minister, central ministries, at the end of 2011, Vietnam Meeting Science Assosiation and Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of ICISE. The center was inaugurated and put into use on August 12, 2013.
By 2023, the ICISE Center has organized nearly 150 high-quality international scientific conferences and more than 45 thematic courses with nearly 10,000 scientists from 35 countries and territories, including 18 Nobel professors, 2 professors won the Fields Prize, 2 professors won the Kavli Prize (the highest award in the field of astronomy), one professor won the Shaw Prize, one professor won the Dirac Prize, one professor won the Kalinga Prize (ONU) and Cino Delduca (of the French Academy of Sciences) and many other famous scientists. And etc.
Minister Huynh Thanh Dat hopes that international scientists can give many suggestions to policy makers, ways, roadmap and valuable experiences of developed countries for Vietnam on development and sustainable development. |
