Vietnam commited to promoting digital and green transformation
On the same day, April 17, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, in which he expressed his aspiration to turn Vietnam into a high-income developed country by 2045.

To achieve this goal, the Prime Minister asked the United Nations to continue supporting Vietnam in key areas, such as science and technology, innovation, equitable energy transition and green economic development.

In addition, the Prime Minister also affirmed Vietnam's proactive role in the activities of the United Nations and asked the organization to support ASEAN's central role in the regional structure. He emphasized Vietnam's commitment to promoting initiatives to bring peace and prosperity to the Asia-Pacific region, aiming to build a peaceful future and sustainable development.

Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed acknowledged Vietnam’s impressive progress, especially in the field of green transition. She also highly appreciated Vietnam’s participation in multilateral forums and UN peacekeeping operations. At the end of the meeting, she pledged to continue promoting the implementation of projects in Vietnam under the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) framework, to support Vietnam in achieving its comprehensive and sustainable development goals.
