Attending at the Can Tho City bridge point, there were representatives of leaders of departments and units under the Department of Science and Technology and related departments and branches including: Department of Finance, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Education and Training, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Can Tho City Statistics Office, Management Board of Export Processing and Technology Zones.
The local innovation index (PII) provides a realistic, comprehensive picture of the current status of the socio-economic development model based on science, technology and innovation (S&T) of each locality.
The index provides the basis and evidence of strengths, weaknesses, potential factors and necessary conditions to promote socio-economic development based on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation of the locality. Based on PII, policy makers and local leaders have the basis to identify and select appropriate orientations and solutions for socio-economic development of their locality based on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.
The workshop was organized to guide the provision of data and supporting documents for the calculation of the Local Innovation Index (PII) in 2025 with the following contents: Introduction to the PII 2025 Framework and adjustments compared to 2024; Procedures for checking, appraising, processing data, calculating results; Instructions for collecting and providing data and supporting documents for PII 2025; Instructions for installing and entering data on online forms, etc.
