From specific startup models
The Hanh Phuc Safe Vegetable Cooperative in Don Duong commune is one of the sustainable, clean agricultural startup models run by women. Established in April 2024 from a small production group, the cooperative now has 8 core members, linking with more than 15 households, supplying over 2 tons of vegetables and fruits to the market daily. All products meet VietGAP standards and are covered by contracts with many businesses inside and outside the province. Taking advantage of the favorable climate, soil, local female labor force, and support in terms of technology, plant varieties, supplies, and government policies, the cooperative is gradually building its brand and enhancing its competitiveness.
Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of Hanh Phuc Safe Vegetable Cooperative, shared: “In the era of Industry 4.0, accessing and applying digital technology is both an opportunity and a challenge for women. To succeed in entrepreneurship, women must constantly learn, improve their digital skills, and boldly apply technology to production, management, and product consumption.”
In Hoa Ninh commune, the Oh Mi Kơ Ho Coffee Cooperative – initiated by K'ho women – is a vivid example of the effectiveness of supporting women's entrepreneurship at the grassroots level. The cooperative has 9 member households, sustainably producing coffee on 5 hectares. Their products have received OCOP 3-star certification, are sold in many stores and supermarkets, and participate in trade promotion activities both within and outside the province. According to Ms. Nròng Hương, the head of the cooperative, the success of the model is the result of long-term support from the local government and various agencies and organizations, through study tours, machinery support, roasting and grinding training, and media and market connections.
Innovation to meet development requirements.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Nham, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Lam Dong province, in recent years, women in the province have increasingly participated in innovative entrepreneurship activities, especially in high-tech agriculture, green products, OCOP (One Commune One Product), and the circular economy. However, reality shows that women entrepreneurs still face many obstacles such as limited management skills, difficulty accessing capital, lack of technological foundation, and market information.
Based on that experience, various levels and sectors have been implementing numerous support solutions tailored to the specific conditions of each locality. In recent times, the Department of Science and Technology has focused on enhancing scientific and technological capacity and knowledge; supporting access to capital and finance; promoting green transformation and the circular economy; connecting markets, building brands, and providing legal and intellectual property support...
Simultaneously, the Lam Dong Provincial Women's Union effectively implemented Project 939 "Supporting Women's Entrepreneurship," focusing on training, communication, resource networking, and the development of collective economic activities managed by women. Thousands of startup ideas have been supported; many cooperatives and production groups led by women operate effectively, contributing to creating sustainable livelihoods for members and women in general.
"Promoting women's entrepreneurship, innovation, and legitimate wealth creation" is also one of the two breakthroughs identified by the Provincial Women's Union for the 2025-2030 term. According to Ms. H'Vi Êban - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province and Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union, building a comprehensive support ecosystem, centered on women, linked to digital transformation and sustainable development, will be an important foundation for the women's entrepreneurship movement in Lam Dong to continue spreading and making positive contributions to the province's socio-economic development. |
