At the second quarterly press conference of the Ministry of Science and Technology on July 19, 2019, the National Office of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology) emphasized the impacts of the revised Intellectual Property Law (recently approved by the National Assembly at the 7th session on June 14, 2019) for the protection of the creative results of research and business organizations and the promotion of applications and transfer of those results.
In the first 6 months of 2019, the handling of industrial property registration applications of the National Office of Intellectual Property had a strong breakthrough with the number of processed applications increased 66.8% over the same period in 2018.
Recently, Thai Nguyen Department of Science and Technology chaired and coordinated with Market Management Department of Thai Nguyen, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Thai Nguyen City People's Committee to inspect the implementation of the provisions of law for “Tan Cuong” geographical indication.
July 18, 2019, in Ho Chi Minh City, Institute of Intellectual Property Science (Institute of Science and Technology) collaborated with Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan Trade Promotion Organization (JETRO) and Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department to hold the Conference "Distinguishing real products - fake goods."
Recently, at the Conference Hall of Phu Quoc District Economic Department, Center for Scientific and Technological Progress Application under the Department of Science and Technology of Kien Giang province, collaborated with the Phu Quoc Fish Sauce Association, the Supervisory Board of Phu Quoc fish sauce held a joint workshop on producing fish sauce in Phu Quoc district to abel fish sauce products.
"Protecting trademarks is the best way to protect consumers' interests, avoiding using fake goods," Mr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of VCCI said.
In order to further enhance exchanges and cooperation in the field of intellectual property (IP), on June 14, 2019, in Hanoi, Vietnam Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam and China Intellectual Property Office (CNIPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding bilateral cooperation - a legal basis for the two Agencies to promote projects and mutually beneficial cooperation activities related to IP innovation, application, protection and management.
Recently, Son La Department of Science and Technology collaborated with the Center for Rural Development (Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) to organize a workshop on identification and regulation system to control the trademark of "Son La Plum" for plum fruit products in Son La province.

Recently, at the Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee Hall, the Department of Science and Technology advised the provincial People's Committee to organize the provincial scientific workshop "Application of science and technology to develop products and goods traceability solutions in Binh Phuoc province.”
