Ho Chi Minh City has implemented the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program since 2018, recognizing 255 products from 87 entities, of which 79 products met 4-star standards. In the first 10 months of 2024, 121 OCOP products were recognized, with 43 products meeting 4-star standards.
On August 28, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat had a working session with Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups of Korea (MSS) OH Youngju to discuss promoting cooperation, developing the innovative startup ecosystem and smart manufacturing.
On August 16, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology had a working session with the delegation of the Department of Planning and Investment; Bac Ninh province Department of Science and Technology on the procedures for building and establishing the Ho Chi Minh City Innovation Startups Center, along with the process of implementing specific mechanisms and policies for science and technology activities.
In the morning of August 16, at Phan Dinh Phung Primary School, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, the 4th District 3 Science and Technology Festival 2024 took place with the theme: "Science and technology together with digital transformation - The power to change lives".
In a significant step to promote cooperation among members of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), NPO Vietnam (Vietnam Productivity Institute) and NPO I.R Iran have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) focusing on enhancing productivity. The agreement marks a new chapter in bilateral relations between the two countries, with the aim of leveraging each other’s strengths in various fields to promote common development and growth.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Decision No. 13/2024/QD-TTg promulgating the list of sectors and facilities emitting greenhouse gases that must conduct greenhouse gas inventories (updated).
Integrating greenhouse gas inventories into traceability systems will greatly facilitate businesses, increase transparency and accuracy, thereby helping to improve inventory and mitigation capabilities for greenhouse gas emissions.
On August 16, 2024, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) coordinated with the Ben Tre province People's Committee and Can Tho University to organize a scientific workshop on the coconut industry with the theme: "Ben Tre develops green and sustainably towards net zero".
The Science and Technology Information Resources Library Consortium has been constantly developing and growing, gathering resources from information agencies and libraries nationwide to enhance the capacity to negotiate additional international science and technology information resources and share internal information resources. The activities of the Science and Technology Information Resources Library Consortium (Consortium) have made important contributions to the implementation of the Law on Science and Technology, the Law on Libraries, the Project "Developing science and technology information resources to serve scientific research and technology development to 2025, with a vision to 2030" and the National Digital Transformation Program.
In recent times, the Vietnam Library Consortium on Science and Technology Information Resources has introduced a rich source of information to the community of researchers, lecturers and students, changing the style of learning and research, contributing to strengthening international integration, and improving the ability to access the Industrial Revolution 4.0 for Vietnamese people.
